Northern Beaches Science Fun is a premium family STEM collection that turns one of Sydney's most beautiful coastlines into a giant outdoor experiment. From Manly to Palm Beach, kids and parents can investigate wave energy, marine habitats, rock pools, dunes, lagoons, mangroves, seagrass, fossils, optics and whale migration using real places and real science.
The route is designed as a driving collection so families can dip into it for a full day, split it into a southern and northern half, or revisit favourite stops when the tide, weather or season changes. Each story explains a scientific idea in warm, playful language, then gives families something concrete to notice, compare, sketch or test together.
This collection is best for curious kids roughly aged 6 to 14, but it is written so adults learn plenty too. Bring water, hats, sunscreen and a notebook if you want to lean into the detective-work. The big idea is simple: the Northern Beaches are not just pretty. They are one enormous living science lab.
